BIS Group A, B and C Jobs: Eligibility Criteria

BIS Recruitment: Educational Qualifications

For the Deputy Director (Administration) for Law: law degree from a recognized university / Bachelor of Laws; and three years of experience in the relevant field in a central government / state / Union territory or statutory / autonomous body / public sector company / a reputable government agency.


For Deputy Director (Finance): Chartered Accountant / Cost and Works Accountant / Junior Accountant in Accounts Department / Master of Business Administration (Honors in Finance) from a recognized university / institution approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, and three years of relevant field experience in central government / State / Union territory or statutory / autonomous body / public sector company / reputable government body.


For the Deputy Director (Marketing and Consumer): Masters of Business Administration (Marketing) or Masters or Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication or Masters or Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work from a recognized university / institution; and five years of experience in the field of marketing / mass communication / social work in central government / state government / government of the Union territory / statutory / an autonomous body / a company public sector / reputable government agency.


For the assistant director (library): Master (graduate degree) in library science or library science and information science from a recognized university or institution or graduate degree in library science or library science and information science from 'a recognized university or institution; and At least five years of experience in a central government / state government / autonomous agency / public sector company / university / recognized institute library.


For the deputy section officer: Baccalaureate from a recognized university or equivalent; and Computer skills test: The candidate must have at least level 6 of the national skills qualification framework. The test must be of a qualifying nature; and ualifying Skill Test in Computer Proficiency

For the personal assistant:

Diploma from a recognized university;

Computer skills test: the candidate must be competent at least up to level 6 of the national skills qualification framework. The test must be of a qualifying nature; and

Shorthand test in English or Hindi including a hundred words per minute dictation test for seven minutes which candidates will have to transcribe in forty-five minutes (English dictation) and sixty minutes (Hindi dictation) and computer literacy. Visually impaired candidates with a disability of forty percent and above will be required to transcribe the question in seventy minutes for the English Shorthand test and 90 minutes for the Hindi Shorthand test.

Allowed errors: five percent. The tolerated errors should be relaxed up to ten percent, if a sufficient number of qualified candidates (i.e. with five percent errors) are not available in any category in relation to the advertised vacancies.

For junior translators (Hindi): Masters / Postgraduate degree from a recognized university in Hindi with English as a subject at degree level; Or Masters degree / postgraduate degree from a recognized university in English with Hindi as a subject at degree level; or masters / postgraduate degree from a recognized university in any subject with Hindi and English as subjects at degree level; Or masters degree / graduate degree from a recognized university in any subject with English / Hindi and Hindi / English as subjects at degree level. Diploma or certificate in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa; or Two years of experience in terminology work in Hindi or in translation from English to Hindi or vice versa, preferably technical or scientific literature


For library assistant: graduate with a recognized diploma in library science with three years of experience.


For the stenographer: bachelor's degree from a recognized university; (ii) Computer proficiency test and shorthand test


For the senior secretariat assistant: Bachelor's degree from a recognized university; and a computer proficiency test comprising.


For the junior secretarial assistant: Bachelor's degree from a recognized university; Computer proficiency test and typing speed test.


Selection Process for Group A, B and C Posts of BIS Recruitment

Selection will be done as per performance in On-line Exam, Practical Skill Test & Shorthand

For General/OBC Category Candidates, Post Wise application fees details are as follows:-

Assistant Director Post, the application fee is Rs.800/-

For the remaining posts, the application fee is Rs.500/-
